“That took a little longer than expected... but I think we're finally here, Chuchu!”
Route Eighteen was credited to have some of the best fishing spots in the entirety of Unova where high leveled water types could be found in an abundance no matter how skilled of a fisherman you were or what sort of fishing rod you chose to use. This was a high honor, considering all of the other aquatic routes and towns that littered the region, so it wasn't rare for people aiming to get a rare or a powerful catch to come swinging around those parts with hopes of finding just that. Even better than that was the fact that there was an assortment of wild Pokemon to be found up on the shallow cliffs toward the center of the island, also attracting a decent number of ordinary trainers hoping to see or catch some Pocket Monsters they wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. However, one particular woman had no interest in seeing or catching said creatures up on the higher elevated platforms; she'd already seen most of them in her travels, few as they could be. No, her eyes were set on the ocean, super rod in hand with plenty of Poke' Balls in her arsenal.
Not that Yellow intended to keep anything that got caught, though, but it was nice to befriend them, add some information to her dinosaur of a Poke'Dex, and see them off.
The blonde rarely didn't do much traveling, preferring to stay home in Viridian City and spend her days by the stream that ran through the forest that was her name sake, but her uncle could occasionally convince her out of the house, and even more rare than that did she set out on her own for one purpose or another. Should anyone have asked her, she hit the road for the distant Unova region to see more Pokemon and get some fishing in while at foreign fishing spots. And that wouldn't be a lie, really; actually, that was exactly what she intended to do. However, deeper in her thoughts and the idea that had brought about the idea to a trip to the distant region was the fact that it seemed to be attracting less of the sour luck that the main land seemed to be getting stuck with. Some of the things could easily have been brushed off as natural occurrences and Lady Luck dishing out her worst, but some part of her had a feeling that these things were linked to each other in some way. She'd faced more criminal organizations than most people ever would in five lifetimes, after all, so it was possible that she would know better. Not that there was any solid proof, but the gut feeling that someone was behind on this was still there. If, in the end, she turned out to right, as well, it would be nice if she were not left kicking the bucket; Emerald had already passed away from mysterious causes, from what she heard, and if there were criminals afoot, it would be nice to not have two Dex Holders out of commission should there ever be a battle. And so, while these were all probably just frivolous concerns, The Healer still found herself on the routes of a far off land, away from whatever was in store for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. For a while, anyway.
Thinking about it must have made the young female grow visibly distressed, seeing as the Pikachu at her feet let out a little whine and bumped against her leg. (Don't be sad,) it told her, the voice that her powers allowed to enter her mind laced with worry and that alone brought a smile to her face. Patting the creature on the head, she told it, “It's okay. I'm just... thinking.” Partially to change the topic and partially to make sure that all of the good fishing spots weren't taken before she could get to them, she recommended, “Why don't we look for a spot to sit down?” While a tad bit hesitant, the electric mouse sat next to her boot nodded and agreement and followed after her eagerly as she led the way around the beachy island. It wasn't long before she'd chosen a spot and was casting her line into the salt water. Hopefully, this would be able to take things off her mind for a while.
